Next Episode of Edd Egg Progress

Due: Late Oct 09.

Progress:
Script: 75%
Sound: 0%
Animation: 0%

I realise it's early days to give a progress report on an episode I haven't started yet, but it's just to let you know it's happening. The script has gone through a first draft, a complete rewrite, then another draft and this was just whilst I was on holiday! Mark and I will sit together to iron out the kinks and then should be able to get cracking.

Once again, this is an ambitious episode so it probably won't be ready until just before Halloween.

And now, for the benefit of forum members, a clue to what the episode is all about:

Done a lot of work on backgrounds and characters. Still got a few backgrounds to draw and other additional elements to get done. Really, I'm just killing time (but in a constructive manner) until Mark is free to help review the script and get it all finalised.

I'll try and get some preview images posted when I can.

EDIT: Also, a Newgrounds rule for the Halloween compo is that we're not allowed commercial music, which puts a bit of a bugger on an joke we had scripted. Instead, they encourage us to use the audio portal and find our artists/songs there. I've found a couple of good artists with nice creepy atmospheric songs but I need two more:

1) A very dangerous and scary chase scene song. Fast, frantic, animalistic and, most importantly, quite short.
2) A big song and dance type song. Like an orchestrated celebration song for getting people dancing round, something that sounds like The Can-Can or something from a broadway musical (but obviously an orignal composition).

Could people help me search the Audio portal for these songs and suggest things for us?

2) I can't find one for right now

fast paced EVIL ONES-
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/146315
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/95172
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/223716
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/14627
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/171634
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/238774 - RECOMMENDED!!!!!!
check all songs out all the way through or skip to the middle for the faster stuff... thats what i did.

ENDING CELEBRATION ones-
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/236327
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/211519
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/215541 - i made this one
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/199965 - THIS ONE FTW!!!!!!!
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/143761
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/199210- waterflame- recommended!

as for length......i dont know why you cant get someone to cut and edit the sound to fit accordingly. its very easy and requires just 2 minutes of time.

eery songs where easy... there are some FANTASTIC ones i have heard of on ng...but i didnt favourite them and cant remember there names.. darn it.
the joyful celebrations are harder. everyone wants to be mysterious and emo on ng for somereason, so they all submit theyre work under something with the word "dark, mystery, death, emo, pain etc... conformists much LOL.

I like these two, especially the garden party, I think that may be a definite winner right there. 0:00AM is a very good chase scene song, but I found another last night so I'll decide between the two when I edit the sound.

As for the length, I'm happy to edit the sound to the length I want, so that's fine. But a lot of the chasing songs I found had a long build up before kicking in and I wanted something that'll dive straight into a chase. Also, the chase scene only lasts a few seconds so something short would be ideal.

Thanks for you help, I think I have all the music tracks I'm after now!

Dang, i just joined and already stuffs happening. Well thats cool. Big fan of Mr. Egg. Stag up there told me bout the forum so i thought id join, throw in my two cents and what not.

So, werewolves are the theme, should be good. Now whether one of the characters is a werewolf or is attacked by one is the question. lol, knowing my luck itll be a puppy salon and the wolf is getting a perm...  Cheesy

I was tempted to click the "Report to moderator" like in Eddache's post above (joking). That would be like reporting The President to the FBI...

Progress:
Script: 75%
Sound: 10% (Found the various music tracks I want to use and cleared permission with the respective artists)
Animation: 15% (Lots of work done to BGs and character designs - nothing animated yet)

Mark and I will review the script tonight so the aim is to be 100% settled on it before he goes.

I've had permission granted from a couple of NG musicians to use their tracks but nothing has be edited. I have a selection of atmospheric songs but I'll decide on the definate tracks when the sound it edited. With the script to be done and dusted tonight, I will get the voices recorded and edited over the weekend. Then I will storm head first into animation mode.

I've got a couple of new animation techniques I want to try out which, if I get it right, may actually make animating a whole lot easier and quicker. I'll explain once it's all done (though it may be only of interest to the flash buffs out there).

Backgrounds have always been one of my weak points and I've been making greater effort to improve upon that. The Star Trek episode involved plenty of more detailed BGs which I was pleased with but this one should have a lot more. I'm redressing the characters again though I'm still deciding on Edd's design. I like giving them clothes since it makes them look more interesting, so I may consider dressing them (at least Straight-Guy and Edd) more often.

This should be a very good episode and I'm looking forward to it.
